RETIREES
FHWA Retirees
Who We Are

FHWA Retirees is an organization of former employees of the Federal Highway Administration. Formed in 1988 by former employees of FHWA Region 6 in Ft. Worth, Texas, it has since grown to become a nationwide network of over 500 members.
What We Do
FHWA Retirees holds annual reunions at various locations throughout the United States for the purpose of maintaining friendships and collegiality among its members. In addition, it shares news of members, the FHWA, and other items of interest through a shared mailing list, newsletter, and website.

Who Is Eligible
Any former employee of the Federal Highway Administration, or active employee planning retirement soon, is eligible to join FHWA Retirees regardless of current employment or retirement status. Spouses of retirees are also eligible. If interested, please use this Contact Us link to let us know.

Our Reunions
Each FHWA Retirees reunion is a three to four day event consisting of social activities such as one or more tours to area highlights, a family night dinner, a golf outing, and a short business meeting. A traditional feature very popular with the attendees is the hospitality room, well stocked with food and drink, and running nearly continuous throughout the Reunion. All activities are designed to renew old acquaintances and most importantly, have fun!
Our History and Policies
In 2005, the Executive Board developed a historical document to memorialize past reunions and activities of the FHWA Retirees organization. It was believed that such a document would not only be a valuable tool for the Executive Board, but also of interest to all reunion attendees. It has since been updated several times.
